Underlying everything chef Bart Ausems does in Maastricht is a deep-rooted passion for French culture and, above all, French cuisine. With the workshop 'Tout à Fait en France’, Bart and Sandra Ausems invite you to Vaudricourt, their base in France, to get acquainted with French cuisine. 

Only a four-hour drive from Maastricht, the French village of Vaudricourt offers a wonderful culinary ambiance. Vaudricourt is located in Picardy, a region known for its superb seafood and delicious cheeses. Flavoursome ingredients and a pleasant atmosphere which we no longer wish to keep to ourselves. We look forward to welcoming you to our home for a culinary experience.

During the workshop ‘Tout a Fait en France’, we will set to work together in our professional kitchen. The beautiful regional produce, combined with the infectious 'la douce France' feel, will make this an unforgettable experience for you and your guests. We love this region. It inspires us and gives us new ideas every time. We want you to experience that too, and taste it!

VAUDRICOURT, LE TREPORT AND EU IN PICARDY

When leaving Picardy via the coast, Le Tréport is the first town you encounter. Situated on the Bresle estuary, this port is very charming in summer and shrouded in mysterious mist in winter. The town extends from the foot of tall chalk cliffs. These 106m-high cliffs dominate Le Tréport as well as its pebble and sandy beaches.

It is a town of two halves; the lower port town and the upper town built around the 16th-century church of St James. You will frequently see the name of ‘Saint-Jacques’ (St James) in the names of the pretty yellow and blue restaurants in the harbour district.

HOTEL & SPA LES CORDERIES****

Les Corderies is located in the town of Saint-Valery-Sur-Somme, around 10 minutes from our house. It is an authentic luxury hotel with a beautiful view over the Bay of the Somme, with a relaxing spa and 18 rooms.

This traditional-looking hotel, situated in the Les Corderies district, was refurbished in a contemporary, luxurious and relaxed style in 2009. Its elegant furniture and fine materials, such as the oak parquet floors, lend this hotel an authentic as well as a modern feel. PROGRAMME

DAY 1  |  You arrive at Hotel & Spa Les Corderies, where you can check in and leave your luggage. Transport will be waiting to take you to Vaudricourt, where you will be welcomed with lunch. We will gladly show you why we fell in love with this region. After an explanation of the workshop, we will start preparing a five-course dinner with matching wines, which we will enjoy together.

DAY 2  |  After breakfast at Hotel & Spa Les Corderies, you will check out and we will each make our own way for an excursion.  Back in Vaudricourt to prepare lunch together. After lunch, the programme comes to an end.

COSTS

This programme costs €400 per person. This includes bed and breakfast for one night at Hotel & Spa Les Corderies, as well as dinner, lunch, wines and all the ingredients.
